Work begins

The roofers are in, we have a cement bath in the lounge, a party wall under construction in the loft, and after plying the men with tea and cakes our neighbour Barbara managed to sweet talk them into laying some loft insulation on their side which they cannot do themselves due to having no loft access.

Still no sign of Lionel II, who is showing every sign of taking after Mab, or as he is better known, Mr Manyana.

It's time to celebrate!

After nearly nine months of preparation, we have now reached another milestone in the move to Sunnyside. Today two things happened, the scaffolding went up ready for work to start this week, and we had an email from the council confirming that our grant application had been approved. Hurray! They say that these things come in threes, so with any luck Baby Burgess will arrive soon to put the icing on the cake.

Family resemblance?

I have always thought James looks a lot like his Daddy, but recently his cheesy grin has reminded me of this picture of me when I was three.

Swing

We spent this morning at Sunnyside. James wasn't quite sure what was going on but he was very keen to help with the engineering works.

When he realised that all the effort was in aid of a garden swing he couldn't wipe the smile from his face. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for your help - James is especially grateful since both of his parents are next to useless at the moment.

Dog bite

Mab was desperate for a trip to hospital today, and seeing as Lionel II and I have disappointed him he took matters into his own hands by getting bitten by a dog (for the second time in two months!) He was advised by the nurse to take things easy and to let his wife wait on him hand and foot. Fat chance.
Still waiting...

This is me today. Baby lionel II is due to arrive today, but is so far showing no enthusiasm for entering the big wide world...

Cousin Daniel

We have had a lovely couple of days with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie
Hannah, cousin Daniel and cousin Bethan. James and Daniel have played beautifully together. Here they are see-sawing for all they are worth...

...having their tea together

...reading books together

...having a tractor ride with big cousins Jane and David (p.s. many congratu lations to cousin Jane who got engaged today - hurray!!!)

...visiting the cows

...and then back to Grandmas for some more fun. Daniel introduced James to the art of naked dancing. It was a big hit.

Run Run Run

James loves going for a walk with Maisie. Today turned out to be fun as he couldn't help but run (out of control) when he was toddling down hill. Maisie found this great fun.
On the command of "stop" "heel" or "wait" though it was difficult to determine which of Maisie or James were the most disobedient. I think Maisie deserves the Bonio today.

The Bump

It has been sometime now since Louise had an uninterrupted view of her feet but this does not mean it doesn't have its uses. What a lovely bump.
Mummy and Daddy's bed

James has been a bundle of fun lately. He found it terribly amusing to pretend to sleep in mummy and daddy's bed today.
