Happy birthday to the three-year-olds!

Today we celebrated the
birthdays of James, Agnes, Zachary, Isabella, Eva, Ella, Sam and Katy. After some bouncing around on a bouncy castle they all tucked into their tea and cake.

After finishing her lunch, Jennifer tucked into a ham sandwich and then hoovered up the crumbs from the floor.

James was delighted with his party glasses, claiming they made him see much better.

He wore them all the way home, and even went to sleep in them.
Stream jumping

We have had a lot of rain here lately and the streams and ditches are overflowing. It's pretty cold too, so Maisie makes sure she doesn't get her feet wet on the morning walk.

Happy Birthday Great (Great) Auntie Joan

We helped great auntie Joan celebrate her 80th birthday last weekend. It was a very memorable evening in which some members of my family were reunited after more than 20 years. Hopefully this is just the beginning.

The three sisters reunited, talking, hugging and laughing. What a happy day.
Auntie Julie and Uncle Bill

James and Jennifer have been thoroughly spoiled this last week due to a visit from across the atlantic. Julie and Bill have been visiting in honour of Great Auntie Joan's 80th birthday, and what a pleasure it has been to see them again. Photos of the birthday party will follow shortly.

Baby walking

Jennifer has been making great progress with her walking lately with much encouragement from neighbours Christopher and Emma. Today she bravely took both hands off the walker and stood for a few seconds unaided before loosing her nerve and sinking to her knees. What a clever girl!

James is pretty much back to normal after a marathon three day long vomiting bug. He is back to eating today, and it became apparent this afternoon that he had turned the corner when, after nearly a week of peace, Jennifer returned to being the target of the odd shove and kick.

Happy New Year!

We saw the new year in with our very good friends, Ivor, Bex, Molly and George. The highlight of our visit has been the trip to Puxton Park, an indoor play area for children of all ages. This is by far the scariest slide I have ever seen. I wasn't brave enough to try the one to the right!

James and Molly loved this one which was almost as scary! We wonder whether coming here may have been a mistake. If they can master the slide of death at three, what will our little adrenalin seekers be into at 15? See Ivor and Bex's site for more photos and video clips.

Frosty day

It has been a cold winter and we are sorely missing our wood burner and rediscovering our vast array of jumpers, but on the upside we have had some stunning frosts.
Abigail's (and Jonah's) party

Thanks Ruth for inviting us to your mum's house for a party. We had a great time, and we loved the playground.
