Happy Christmas!

Only a little late, but today we sat down to Christmas dinner, complete with carols playing in the background, followed by a bit of slashing and burning in the garden. Ug. What a joyous Sunday afternoon.

Red Nose Day

For the second time since starting school this school year, James has won the class prize for the best fancy dress outfit. Yesterday, in honour of comic relief, James went to school dressed as a clown. He came home proudly clutching a certificate saying "James Burgess did something funny today". No expense was spared on the outfit which was borrowed from Christopher and Emma next door.

Lambing

Helen, Steve, Martha and baby Fraser joined us at the lambing weekend today. We witnessed one little lamb being born and another had been born just before we arrived. James watched as the ewe chomped away on the after-birth and declared "urgh, that's disgusting", and within half an hour was dipping chips into his ice cream. Boys.

Happy wedding day Mr & Mrs Pocock!

It was a joy and a privilege to see young Chris wedded to the lovely Helen this weekend.

It was a lovely service, followed by afternoon tea with proper china cups (deep joy), followed by a barn dance back at the farm, where we were served (by the bride and groom themselves) a homemade pie and pea supper. As well as meeting the new Mrs Pocock for the first time we also met Costa, the lovely Mrs Cave, for the first time. One of the best weddings yet.
