Logs and rubble

This is my kind of day.  In the garden with friends, doing stuff.  Not our garden this time, Helen and Steve have landed themselves a fabulous house with a proper size garden with huge potential for slash and burn fun.  Look forward to more days like this!

Meanwhile the kids made a den and hunted for treasure, finding an old bottle, two jars and a couple of pieces of pottery.  Happy days.

Belated birthday blogging

Jennifer turned five earlier this month, and after a horse riding treat in the afternoon, she invited all her favourite people round to afternoon tea.  This year's offering was a cat in a garden. The brief was quite specific and the cat was supposed to be marmalade but the orange food colouring was disappoingingly dull, and little improved by

emptying the entire tube into the icing mixture.  But this little girl was suitably pleased with her cake, and being centre of attention which is how every five year old girl should feel on her birthday.  Happy birthday Jenny!
