Party pictures

Snowy day

Yesterday we woke up to beautiful scenes like these. We took James and Maisie for a walk in the park. This is James's first experience of snow!

We tried to walk past the swings, but James had other ideas. He giggled and giggled as Daddy threw snowballs at him.

Maisie dog was happily rounding up the ducks until the swans turned up and chased her off.

A weekend of firsts

This has been a weekend of firsts for James. First haircut, first taste of chocolate, first birthday party with his friends from babies club, first taste of champagne (thanks to grandpops!), and first few steps unaided!! He's so quick it's difficult to get a decent photo. I will try again in the next few days.

It's party time!

Today James and his friends had a joint birthday party at the church. There were lots of toys, music, singing, cake, pass the parcel (which James was very pleased to win!), balloons, and lots of bubbles! Here is James with his hareem of lady babies trying to catch the bubbles.

Before long, the three boys went off on their own to play in the ball pit. James and Zachary
had great fun throwing the balls out of the pit, but not always with such beautiful synchrony as this!

Sam shows great promise as a fielder, gathering up the balls and returning them to the pit.

Eva proves that the best fun is always to be had inside the box, rather than with the toys it contained...

Meanwhile, the boys get stuck into the cars!

Hold on a minute... this is the car depot - where have all the boys gone?

...and now for a musical interlude... "I'm a dingle dangle scarecrow with a flippy floppy hat..."

After a hard day's playing, it's time for a lie down and a drink of milk.

And to round off a lovely day, a group photo, from left to right Sam, Jo, Katy, Sarah, Zachary, Melissa, Lotty, Manda, Bella (below), Davinder, Eva (sorry we missed you Gillian - hope you are feeling better soon!), Ella, Nicki, Agnes, Anne, me and James
Time for a hair cut?

I have been resisting up to now, but I think I will have to give in and admit that you are right Mabs, this boy (pictured here cunningly disguised as a scarecrow) does need a haircut!
Stunt baby

Following recent incidents in the Burgess household, we think James is going to be a stunt man when he grows up. Here he is doing a bit of stunt driving before breakfast.
Standing tall

Last week James stood up all by himself without holding on! Doesn't he look pleased with himself?

Growing like a weed

Today James had his one year health check. He is doing everything that a little one year old boy should be doing, and his weigh-in has confirmed a previously suspected growth spurt. Eight weeks ago he was just below the 9th percentile, today he is just below the 25th percentile at 20lbs 8.5oz. Not surprising since he has eaten everything in sight over the last two weeks.

Happy birthday to you Nanna!

Just for your birthday, here is a special picture of me today eating my tea. For my tea I had a doorstep slice of toast with half a tin of baked beans, a jam sandwich, two clementines and a drink of milk. Mummy says I have the appetite of a horse, and Daddy says I have a tummy like my grandpops.
