Cycle ride

Here's something we couldn't have done a few months ago.  Five people, five bikes, one dog, one landrover and lots of fun.  This is a milestone for us as it's the first time we have been on a family bike ride where we have all cycled independently.  And now we have the landie, this could be a regular jaunt.
The kids did brilliantly, and we celebrated a lap of the lake with a 99 at the end, followed by a play in the playground.  Great day out.

Ladybirds and lupins

Today has been glorious.  We have been out in the garden all day long gardening, playing in the sandpit, riding bikes, and admiring this lovely native ladybird living among the lupins

Goodbye Auntie Hazel

Dearest Auntie Hazel,  my heart is heavy and my eyes sore with tears as I say goodbye to you.  I am so very fortunate to have known you, and if I have in me just the smallest fraction of your spirit and your love of life, then I am very well blessed.  You are so very sadly missed. xxx

Walking home

The downside of being a working Mum means that I don't get to do this very often, but today on a much prized day off, I picked up my boy from school and we walked (and scooted) home, across the fields on this beautiful sunny afternoon.  What a treat.

Lambing

Our annual jaunt up to college for the lambing weekend was made extra special this year as Daddy was on the staff.  James was bursting with pride, announcing: "that's my Dad, he works here" to anyone who would care to listen.
We stayed until the very end when most people had gone home, and were rewarded by the safe arrival of two perfect fluffy lambs.  By then the camera had died , so here are some that were delivered earlier (by quite some time judging by the size of them).
James and Jennifer were delighted that their friend Martha could come too.  All in all, a grand day out.
