Carry on Camping...

James, Daniel, Bethan and Jennifer had a lovely afternoon playing together. The boys went swimming and then joined the girls and grandparents for a picnic tea in the garden. But the fun didn't stop there. Late this afternoon, the venture scouts' quartermaster's store was raided, and Grandpa returned with this vintage specimen, which is the boys' home for the night. After a couple of hours of talking,

giggling, whispering and general tom-foolery, the boys finally put their heads down and went to sleep. What an adventure!

Hurray, the northern Burgesses are here again! This morning we had a girls outing to Lizzie's house for homemade elderflower cordial and rosemary biscuits. Here is my beautiful niece busying around in Lizzie's garden.

Jennifer is recovering well from being de-lumped on Monday. Apart from a black eye she appears to be suffering no ill effects.

Mark and James took a trip up north to help Dave Carter celebrate his marriage to the lovely Kate. It was a mad 48 hour dash for the boys, in which Mark forgot his suit and after a vain attempt at shoe-horning himself into Jon's spare suit, he gave up and borrowed one from a considerably taller neighbour. Suffice to say the turn-ups could have caught a fair few apples. A lovely time was had by all, and they returned safely home last night with some happy memories, and a few great snaps of the cousins.

James and Jennifer produced some fabulous artwork this afternoon. Pure genius. This was the sensible stage before the painting of body parts began... Fortunately the antics stopped short of dismembering ears.
