James and Jennifer were delighted with this morning's news that school had closed due to three inches of snow. We sledged by sunset down Gover Hill, overlooking one of the most beautiful views in Kent.

The snow has arrived
The long awaited, and much hyped, snow finally arrived in Kent
yesterday, and it snowed all day long but not quite hard enough to create a satisfying blanket of brilliant whiteness. But we made the most of it with a good ramble in
the woods, and then drove North for the afternoon (well, North Kent) to
find a true abundance of snow at the home of our lovely
friends, Brian and Marita.
The kids made snow angels and played "ski jumping" until it was practically dark. Thanks Brian and Marita for a lovely afternoon!

Happy New Year!
In keeping with the rest of 2012, this Christmas has had its ups and downs.
Our children played vomit dominoes over the Christmas week so it wasn't
quite the family get together we had planned. Despite missing out on
valuable play time with their cousins, James and Jennifer still managed
to have some good times with Dan and Boo, and it's always good to part
wanting more.
But the sun shone on this glorious New Year's Day, and so we headed for the hills in good spirits, and with high hopes that 2013 will bring more calm than chaos, more harmony than anguish, and more laughter than tears. Happy New Year to all!
