Lovely spring day
Today was a beautiful warm spring day, and we spent most of it outside in the garden and at the park. James and Maisie had a nice game with the ball while I put the washing out to dry.
Bedtime stories
James loves to sit on the sofa reading his books. It is one of his new favourite things. He's showing off his new teeth - the last one
came through a couple of days ago, which makes a grand total of four!

The Good Life
We had a lovely day on Sunday with Anne, Simon and Agnes. After a delicious lunch we all wandered down to their allotment for a spot of digging. Agnes is certainly an outdoor girl - she had a lovely time playing in the mud. Meanwhile, in true Burgess style, James had an afternoon nap. Here we all are in the garden with our harvest. Anne and Simon - if you are reading this we have just eaten the spinach and leeks and they were delicious!

Climbing and Camping in the Cairngorms
A long weekend in the North Cairngorms saw us battling against gusts of wind touching 100mph, a morning out with the Scottish Avalanche Information Service, an awesome climb, camping out in the snow and lots of exploring. Digging pits to assess the snow for avalanche.
The gully on the left is where we started the climb Alladins Couloir. The snow on the right is where we descended.
Descending after the climb whilst the wind blasted us.
Camping near Ben McScotland.
Building a snow shelter to protect us from the wind.
The road which a few minutes earlier we'd driven along before it blew a hooleee. A good weekend even though I feel like I've been beaten up by the weather.

Spring walks
Today was a beautiful spring day and we had a lovely walk over the greensand ridge.
James had a snooze for the first half...
...but woke up to enjoy the second half.
The highlight of the walk for me was finding a little patch of wild helebores in the woods.
This knarly log was also worth a snapshot.

Views from the Greensand Ridge.
Time for a quick play with the stones in the car park before heading off to the O'Briens for tea and hot cross buns.
