Brittany - Week one: Erquy

This year we bravely ventured further from home for our summer holidays, travelling to Brittany with our lovely new bell tent.  We camped in Erquy, at Les Pins campsite just a short walk from some of the loveliest beaches we have ever visited.
A rare but beautiful moment!
Our favourite beach, Plage du Portuais, bathed in glorious sunshine
the rock pools were amazing

Daddy and the kids braving the cold sea

 Running away from the waves!
Dinner!  We had our very own moules marinieres harvested from this beach
Chilling out at the pool after a long day.  The water slides were awesome, this is Mummy and James racing down the fast slide!
and Jenny on the whirly one!
Making the most of an overcast day, we took a trip to Mont Saint Michel
and climbed up to the abbey at the top
Back at Erquy, we visited the miniature version, Ilot Saint Michel.  This little island hosts the tiniest church which can be visited at low tide.
It was a bit wet but we made it before the tide came in!

and we returned at the end of the day to see it at high tide, in sunnier conditions
James on one of the many walks back from the beach in the evening
...and Jenny

Beautiful sunset
