Jennifer is recovering well from being de-lumped on Monday. Apart from a black eye she appears to be suffering no ill effects.

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Carter

Mark and James took a trip up north to help Dave Carter celebrate his marriage to the lovely Kate. It was a mad 48 hour dash for the boys, in which Mark forgot his suit and after a vain attempt at shoe-horning himself into Jon's spare suit, he gave up and borrowed one from a considerably taller neighbour. Suffice to say the turn-ups could have caught a fair few apples. A lovely time was had by all, and they returned safely home last night with some happy memories, and a few great snaps of the cousins.

Van Gogh and Gauguin

James and Jennifer produced some fabulous artwork this afternoon. Pure genius. This was the sensible stage before the painting of body parts began... Fortunately the antics stopped short of dismembering ears.

Larking around

Mark, James and Jennifer ventured down to the stream this morning with Christopher, Emma and their two friends Ben and Toby. By the look of things, the water was a bit colder than expected...

Bundle

Since the first day of my epic tummy bug, James has been asking daily: "are you feeling better Mummy?" and "can I jump on you now Mummy?" Finally, this Wednesday, he got his wish, and the two of them gave me a thorough bundling.

Our children

Having had a week off work with the most persistent tummy bug I've ever had, I have spent a lot of time on the computer. Whilst browsing around I came across a link in my cousin's blog to the blog of her very good friend Larisa, an incredibly talented photographer.

I was totally awestruck by some of the shots of her son, and have been inspired to have a go. My efforts on the point-and-shoot (with a little added help

from iphotos) pale in comparison, but any kind of imitation, no matter how inadequate, is the sincerest form of flattery.

Toiling in the soil

I have finally got around to blogging last weekend's activities. Thanks to Mab, Biddy and Butler, we now have two more beds dug and ready for planting.
Lucky really as our seed potatoes are screaming for the soil and the butternut squash are lining up in the greenhouse waiting to be transplanted. Jennifer looked on, showing off her very best John Wayne walk.
